Breast cancer is a group of diseases in which cells in breast tissue change and divide uncontrolled, typically resulting in a lump or mass. Most breast cancers begin in the lobules (milk glands) or in the ducts that connect the lobules to the nipple.
Regularly examining your breasts on your own, can be an important way to detect breast cancer early, when it’s more likely to be treated successfully. While no single test can detect all breast cancers early, we believe that performing self exams, in combination with other screening methods, can increase the odds of early detection.
